Crystal clear pool maintained by Reeder Outdoor Living

Pool maintenance

Your pool, perfectly balanced — every visit.

We don't just skim and shock. Reeder uses Langelier Saturation Index chemistry to keep your water in perfect balance, protecting your investment and your family.

Most pool services treat symptoms. We prevent them.

Cloudy water, scaling on tile, corroded equipment, itchy eyes — these aren't bad luck. They're the result of unbalanced water chemistry. Most pool maintenance companies test a handful of values, dump in chemicals, and call it done. That approach keeps your pool looking okay most of the time, but it quietly damages your plaster, equipment, and fixtures over years.

Reeder Outdoor Living uses LSI-based water chemistry — the same science used by commercial aquatic facilities and water parks — to maintain your pool at the precise balance point where water is neither corrosive nor scaling. The result is a pool that looks better, costs less to maintain long-term, and lasts significantly longer.

What's included in every visit

Full LSI water analysis

We test pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, temperature, and cyanuric acid — then calculate your LSI score and adjust accordingly.

Skimming & surface cleaning

Leaves, debris, and surface film removed from the water and skimmer baskets every visit.

Brushing & vacuuming

Walls, steps, and floor brushed and vacuumed to prevent algae buildup and calcium deposits.

Equipment inspection

Pump, filter, heater, and automation systems checked for proper operation every visit.

Precision chemical balancing

Chemicals added based on your LSI score — not guesswork. We use the minimum effective dose to achieve balance.

Visit report & log

Every visit is documented. You receive a summary of your water chemistry readings and any actions taken.

LSI vs. standard maintenance

Why LSI chemistry is better for your pool

The Langelier Saturation Index is a calculated value that tells you whether your water is in equilibrium — or whether it's slowly attacking your pool or depositing scale on every surface it touches.

Standard maintenance

Reactive, incomplete, and costly over time.

  • Tests only pH and chlorine — misses the full picture
  • Chemicals added by habit or appearance, not data
  • Corrosive water slowly etches plaster and corrodes equipment
  • Scaling water deposits calcium on tile, surfaces, and heaters
  • Higher long-term costs from premature equipment failure
  • Eye and skin irritation from poorly balanced water

LSI-based maintenance

Proactive, precise, and protective.

  • Full 5-factor water analysis every visit
  • LSI score calculated and targeted to the ideal range (−0.3 to +0.3)
  • Water stays in equilibrium — neither corrosive nor scaling
  • Equipment and surfaces protected, extending their lifespan
  • Lower chemical usage — only what's needed to achieve balance
  • Crystal-clear water that's comfortable to swim in

Understanding LSI

What is the Langelier Saturation Index?

The Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) is a formula developed by Dr. Wilfred Langelier in 1936 to determine whether water is in chemical equilibrium with calcium carbonate. In pool terms, it tells you whether your water is balanced, corrosive, or scaling — and by how much.

An LSI below −0.3 means your water is aggressive and corrosive. It will dissolve calcium from your plaster, etch grout, and corrode metal components. An LSI above +0.3 means your water is oversaturated and will deposit calcium scale on every surface it touches — tile, heaters, pipes, and fittings.

The target range is −0.3 to +0.3, with 0.0 being perfect equilibrium. Achieving this requires balancing five factors simultaneously: pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, water temperature, and cyanuric acid (stabilizer). Adjusting one factor affects the others — which is why LSI maintenance requires calculation, not guesswork.

FactorIdeal range
pH7.4 – 7.6The most influential factor. Even small deviations shift the LSI significantly.
Total Alkalinity80 – 120 ppmActs as a pH buffer. Too low causes pH bounce; too high makes pH hard to lower.
Calcium Hardness200 – 400 ppmLow calcium causes water to leach it from plaster. High calcium causes scaling.
TemperatureVariesWarmer water increases the LSI — heated pools and spas need more frequent adjustment.
Cyanuric Acid30 – 50 ppmStabilizer that protects chlorine from UV. Affects the effective LSI calculation.

Commercial pool maintenance

Keeping commercial pools compliant, clean, and guest-ready.

From hotel pools to HOA amenities, we bring the same LSI-based precision to commercial aquatic facilities — with the documentation and reliability your operation demands.

Hotels & resorts

Consistent, guest-ready water quality maintained on your schedule — daily, weekly, or as needed. We work around your guests.

HOA & community pools

Reliable service for shared amenities with full chemical logs and health department–ready documentation every visit.

Fitness centers & spas

High-bather-load pools require more frequent LSI adjustments. We account for usage patterns to keep water balanced and safe.

Compliance documentation

Every visit produces a detailed chemical log meeting Texas Department of State Health Services requirements for public pools.

Equipment servicing

Commercial-grade pump, filter, and automation system inspection and minor repairs included with every maintenance visit.

Priority response

Commercial clients receive priority scheduling for urgent water chemistry issues, equipment failures, and pre-event preparation.
